The classic sounds of the Everly Brothers and Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons will soon be heard at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre, courtesy of popular Australian artists the Robertson Brothers and Simon Brook McLachlan.
They have joined forces on a national music tour bringing back the hits of the 1950s and 60s superstars in a show that provides a little bit extra that a typical concert.
The Robertson Brothers are one of Australia's leading vocal groups, best-known as providing the distinctive vocals on the theme song for the hit TV soapie Home and Away and their regular political and football song parodies for Ray Hadley's morning show on 2GB.
They have achieved half a million record sales, 22 Mo and ACE Awards, along with two ARIAs and Golden Guitar nominations,
They will be performing all the numbers made popular by the Everly Brothers including ‘Bye Bye Love, Wake Up Little Susie, All I Have To Do Is Dream, Till Kissed You, Cathy's Clown, and Crying In The Rain.
Joining them will be Simon Brook McLachlan, who was a cast member of the Australian production of Jersey Boys and Disney’s High School Musical.
Simon will be showcasing the unique voice and range that Frankie Valli was famous for with songs such as When Will I Be Loved, Sherry, Walk Like A Man, Rag Doll, Big Girls Don’t Cry and Oh What A Night.
They are currently touring the show nationally, performing 80 shows at venues across Australia.
And they will be offering much more than a traditional concert format.
The Robertson Brothers member Ben Robertson said the show takes the format of a 1960s’s variety show with the audience invited to participate.
“In the 1960s all the singing stars had their own variety TV show,” Ben said.
“So we decided to follow the same format and recreate a 1960s variety TV Show starring the Everly Brothers who have invite Frankie Valli on as a guest.
“And we have recreated the features of a 1960s variety show including the old commercials and and old game show segment which involves members of the audience.
“It includes all their classic songs. It has been designed for an older audience,” Ben said.
“But we have found that when the grandparents bring the their grandkids along, they also really like the music.”
The Everly Brothers and Frankie Valli show will be appearing at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre on Saturday, June 2.
