Perth Glory have re-signed Neil Kilkenny on a three-year A-League deal, with the veteran midfielder promised a future coaching role at the club.
Kilkenny joined Glory on a short-term contract during the January transfer window after he was deemed surprlus to requirements by Melbourne City coach Warren Joyce.
The 32-year-old - who has played 14 times for the Socceroos - starred for Glory during his 10-game stint, helping them come within a whisker of securing a finals berth.
At the end of Kilkenny's contract he will take up a coaching position at the Glory.
"Everyone who knows me knows that I have ambitions to be a coach and a manager," Kilkenny said.
"I appreciate the club recognising that potential in me and giving me the opportunity to take my first steps in fulfilling those ambitions in Perth.
"The club has the potential to be extremely successful, with the right personnel on board who bring the right winning mentality, and I want to be a part of that success."
Glory have also re-signed Chris Harold, Liam Reddy, Shane Lowry, Alex Grant, Joel Chianese, and Jacob Italiano.
T they are on the lookout for a new coach and a new chief executive.
Kenny Lowe was sacked as coach after failing to guide the team to the top six.
Chief executive Peter Filopoulos will move back to Victoria to take up the CEO position of CEO of Football Federation Victoria.
Glory legend Damian Mori is a possibility to replace Lowe as coach.
