Beauty with a positive cause inspired by personal experience drew Caringbah’s Brielle Streater, 22, onto a pageant stage this year.
As the representative for Miss Australia International 2018, the young woman is an advocate for anti-bullying, and hopes to encourage other Australians of her generation to be more proactive.
“As a survivor of seven lengthy years of bullying, this is a lot about the platform or cause you represent and have a passion for,” she said.
“For four years I have represented charities, often speaking to youth.
“Changes need to take place in government law, or there there will be a continuance of increased levels of bullying, which can sadly this can lead to suicide.”
Brielle is also an ambassador for New Zealand’s Suzy H Child Advocate Anti-Bullying Foundation.
