A manhunt is underway around Oatley for a man who allegedly fled the scene of a domestic incident this morning.
Police responded to the reported domestic incident in Oatley but arrived to find the 37-year-old man had left the scene in his car.
Officers then found the man’s black Holden commodore in nearby Algernon Street but he remains at large.
A police helicopter was involved in the search but is no longer being used. Police are continuing their search on the ground.
Oatley Public School was in lockdown during the search according to one parent on Facebook. There was no threat to students or staff.
The man is described as Middle-eastern in appearance, unshaven, beige cargo pants, blue and white striped shirt, black hair with brown eyes.
Despite the efforts of police on Wednesday, the operation was concluded without locating the man. Investigations are continuing.
