Re the article ‘‘Bay may take cruise ships’’ (Leader, May 23).
We have the most beautiful harbour in the world and they’re going to make a dumb decision like that!
Additionally Botany has enough trucks carrying containers in and out of the Port Botany Terminal so unless you want more congestion it really is a stupid idea and doesn't show case our city.
Leave Port Botany for container ships only!

It's busy enough in Botany Bay with container ships and recreational vessels.
It would also have a ripple on effect for nearby dive sites and fishing zones in terms of marine life.
Furthermore, the traffic around the airport is bad enough and it only takes one accident to bring the place to its knees.

White Bay is frustrating enough for locals and visitors, putting them further out of the CBD doesn’t help anyone.

If it means newer and bigger ship can come to Sydney then I'm not worried where I embark. Port Botany is much closer to the airport so therefore there would be less traffic going into the city. Love cruising.
