Re ‘‘Robbed of $10M: Kirrawee community left in the lurch’’ (Leader, May 30).
Who is responsible for the constant change in planning of South Village? Originally 432 apartments then 749 andnow we are told it will be 808 apartments and more stores!
This is ridiculous as local transport and roads are overburdened now!
Surely, Sutherland Shire Council or our local member should call a halt to over-development before this becomes a slum area.
Pat Johnson, Sylvania
I feel sick every time I drive past the brick pit monstrosity. It’s so out of place for this area.
I feel so sorry for the residents having to look at this thing every time they leave their homes.
What a horrible joke to play on the Sutherland Shire. Shame on those approved it.

To delay building the community park is developer speak for 'we will put in an amendment to the plans to change this into more units for us to sell after the heat has died down'.
Ross Deutschbein
Shire residents were “robbed” the moment that disgusting development was approved.
Nicole Royan
The council opposed the application in the Land and Environment Court but lost – at about $500k in legal fees from memory. That was against the former owners who then onsold the site to the current owners.
Kent Johns
It’s an absolute disgrace what the council is allowing to happen in Kirrawee. We moved from the area in January - god help everybody in the area once those apartments are completed. The traffic is already crippling.
Penni Craggs
Kent Johns crying out for justice in the “$10m robbery of Kirrawee Town” is laughable.
He knew what was going on years ago and now that there’s a pre-selection looming he’s calling for infrastructure for kids, pensioners and families.
If Cr Johns is so concerned about the loss of space allocated for community purposes he should of been present at the meeting.
Meanwhile, the developer keeps delaying the community park no doubt knowing that that too can be doctored to suit depending on who gets the seat of Hughes.
Who’s robbing who?
We all know the council won’t be out of pocket only the rate paying residents of a once green shire.
