Re the article “Council’s $2.35m purchase of land” (Leader, May 29).
I was far from impressed when I read about this land purchase at Oatley (pictured) for the construction of a child care centre.
The council stated it "is committed to the provision of childcare services".
The council should also be committed to installing necessary infrastructure which is well overdue.
I have lived in the vicinity of Lillian Road, Riverwood, for more than 40 years. One side of the road is an absolute eyesore. There is no kerb and guttering, therefore there is no drainage in place. There is also no footpath in Lillian Road and people are usually forced to walk on the road.
Both sides of Webb Street on the southern side of the railway are an absolute disgrace.
Riverwood residents deserve better from Georges River Council.
