Sutherland slipped out of the NPL 1 top five after putting in what coach Grant Lee described as their worst performance of the season in suffering a 2-0 defeat to Hakoah Sydney City East on Saturday night.
The Sharks have now lost three of their last four matches and sit three points outside the finals places.
Goals to Anthony Frangie and Amaury Marie Gauthier either side of half-time was enough for Hakoah to secure the three points from Seymour Shaw Park.
“It’s the same mistakes over and over and over again,” Lee said.
“We simply are not learning from week to week. We put ourselves in a situation where we’re a goal behind and chasing the game again.
“I would have to say that is our worst performance this season across the board. We had opportunities and could have salvaged something from the game but we let ourselves down.”
Sutherland travel to Wollongong to face the Wolves on Sunday.
