A Mortdale man, 27, who secretly filmed women in a shopping centre has been charged.
Police were called to Pitt Street in Sydney’s CBD at about 5.30pm on Saturday, June 16, after security had detained him.
He was seen earlier using a shopping bag fitted with a camera to film up the skirts of females.
Police seized the man’s mobile phone and found more than 2000 photographs and videos allegedly depicting women being filmed without their consent at shopping centres and railway stations in Sydney.
They also seized his personal computers from his residence.
He was taken to Day Street police station and charged with two counts of filming a person’s private parts without consent.
He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Downing Centre Local Court on July 11.
Inquiries into the incident continue and police urge anyone with information to come forward.
