UPDATED:
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses to step forward after a man was critically injured when hit by a car at Arncliffe on Monday.
About 1.15pm, emergency services were called to the corner of Forest Road and Princes Highway, after reports a 43-year-old man had been struck by a Holden Commodore.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to St George Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The 35-year-old man driving the sedan was treated for shock and taken to St George Hospital for mandatory testing.
He is expected to speak with police on Tuesday.

The incident led to all northbound lanes being closed on the Princes Highway on Monday afternoon.
