St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School is among several schools that have a few new cuddly friends in the classroom.
In commemoration of the Anzac centenary, Club Rivers has donated five Anzac bears each, to five schools as part of a community-focused program to help Australian primary school students connect to the stories, people and times of the Great War.
Each bear is accompanied with a story card and learning activities designed for teachers to engage students in history stories.
The bears also feature realistic renditions of the uniforms of the time and the particular unit or Corps which they represent.
Bears were also donated to Narwee, Riverwood, Hannans Road and Peakhurst primary schools.
