Re the article “Council backpedals over kids’s bike track” (Leader, June 27).
I’m pleased to see that Sutherland Shire Council has come to its senses and decided to find another location for these bike tracks and jumps away from Geneva Place, Engadine.
It was devastating when this small reserve had all its grass turned into dirt and I never understood why it was considered a suitable area in the first place for bike tracks.
I’m looking forward to it returning to a green community park and walking my dog there once again.
The council has done the right thing and I thank the Mayor Carmelo Pesce and other shire councillors for coming up with a solution that will make everyone happy.
The kids will still have a bike track and jumps and the rest of the community can have a park back for everyone to enjoy.
Maybe even with some more trees?
Greg, Engadine
