The parents of 45 per cent of eligible children in Miranda electorate have yet to apply for the state government’s $100 Active Kids benefit.
Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres revealed this when announcing more than 6000 vouchers had been downloaded in the electorate since the program was launched in January.
My Ayres encouraged those who had not yet done so to take advantage of the scheme, which is designed to foster children’s participation in sport and fitness.
The $100 voucher for every child can be put towards the cost of registration for sport or activities such as swimming, dance lessons and athletics.
Mr Ayres and Miranda MP Eleni Petinos promoted the scheme at Ettingshausens Dance and Martial Art School.
Parents can register online or in person at any Service NSW Centre.
