Kogarah’s Jubilee Oval will host the first “Big Blue” of the new A-League season when Sydney FC play Melbourne Victory on November 25.
The battle of the A-League heavyweights is one of seven Sydney FC games set down for Kogarah in the 2018-19 A-League draw released today.
The season will kick off on Friday, October 19 with Adelaide United hosting Sydney FC in the opening match or Round 1 at Coopers Stadium.
Sydney FC’s first home game of the season will be the derby against Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday, October 27, at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
The Sky Blues then play two away games against Melbourne City and Newcastle Jets before playing their first home game at Jubilee Oval in Round 5 against Melbourne Victory on Sunday, November 25 at 5pm.
The Sydney FC games to be played at Kogarah are:

- ROUND 13: Sydney FC v Adelaide United – Sunday, January 13
- ROUND 14: Sydney FC v Newcastle Jets – Saturday, January 19

Sydney FC announced in April they had committed to playing games at Jubilee Oval while Allianz Stadium underwent renovations.
Sydney FC were initially to split seven matches between Kogarah and Leichhardt Oval, with the Sky Blues to remain based at Moore Park after securing a deal to play six of their 13 home games at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
But Sydney will now play the majority of home matches at Kogarah with Leichhardt now hosting only two matches, while the SCG will host the remaining four.
Sydney FC Head Coach Steve Corica believes the Hyundai A-League 2018-19 draw has thrown up some exciting fixtures for Sydney FC Members, while also giving the Sky Blues squad every chance of defending their Premiers Plate title and winning the Championship.
“It’s always a very exciting day when the fixture list is announced and I think this year’s draw has thrown up some really great games for us,” he said.
“It’s going to be a fascinating start to the season and we will be ready to fire from the word ‘Go’.
“I’m pleased we will again benefit from the split rounds during our AFC Champions League campaign and the breaks during the FIFA windows will also ensure we have all of our squad available for key games.
“We are looking forward to the experience of playing more games in our suburban grounds and taking matches to our community and I hope they will turnout in big numbers to support us.
“I think playing at the more enclosed stadiums at Kogarah and Leichhardt will provide for an excellent atmosphere and will work to our advantage, while the hosting of our bigger derby fixtures at the SCG will be a new and fantastic experience in which we will thrive.”
