A worker ruptured a gas main on a construction site at Blakehurst today, July 12.
Several NSW Fire & Rescue crews were at the site on Princes Highway this morning at about 8.30am.
Crews took gas readings from nearby buildings and the area was declared safe, with no evacuations needed.
Two city-bound lanes were closed during the operation.
Gas was shut off before 1.30pm but crews remained on site for some time to ensure the drill bit that ruptured the main was safely removed.
