The Oatley Lions Club have held a “feeding the Hungry” collection for winter.
Over the weekend of July 7 and 8 the Oatley Lions Club held a non-perishable food drive at Oatley IGA.
“We asked shoppers to buy one extra item for a trolley and at the end of trading Sunday we had collected 12 trolleys of food destined for St Vincent De Paul Society and the Exodus Foundation,” Oatley Lions publicity officer, Judy Reid said.
“It was hugely successful campaign to help families who are struggling to feed hungry children this winter and to provide nutritious meals to homeless people through a cold Sydney winter.”
Last Thursday, July 12, representatives from St Vincents De Paul and the Exodus Foundation came to Oatley IGA to collect the 12 trolley loads of food and thank the Oatley IGA and Oatley Lions for their collection.
