Sutherland Shire Council is aiming to repair fencing at Bellingara netball courts before next weekend.
Mayor Carmelo Pesce said police had finished their investigation into the accident in which two people were seriously injured and repair work would start.
“The netball association is in support of council rectifying the current fencing and all efforts are being made to have this complete by the resumption of games this Saturday,” he said.
“As far as we are aware, there have been no concerns raised about fencing in and around the main car park at the accident location in the past, but we will continue to work with the association to address any issues that arise.”
Cr Pesce said at the council had contacted the association to offer support to those who were present when the accident occurred on Saturday.
“I’ve also been in touch with the family of one of the people who were hospitalised and it’s a relief to hear that both are now in a stable condition,” he said.
“We wish them a full and speedy recovery.”
