My husband and I spent a few days at Cronulla last week.
It was a bit colder than what we are used to but we took advantage of the sunshine and walked around your many headlands on the walking paths.
The views were beautiful, some swimmers and boardriders braving the cold but obviously enjoying themselves.
We noted how many dogs were being walked by their owners along the paths and also in the mall.
However, we did not enjoy the worst aspect of the walks – dog owners do not pick up their pet’s droppings. We were horrified that such beautiful surroundings were spoilt by this lack of attention by the owners.
Their droppings were also in the mall where so many people were having coffee or dining. This really spoilt the ambience.
We have bags supplied by our council in strategic spots and I decided while on my daily walks to check out our situation.
I walked two beach paths and not one dog dropping was anywhere on these walks. We also have fines for not picking up your dog’s dropping.
Maybe Sutherland Shire Council could take some action to improve the enjoyment for all.
