Cat lovers, put your best paws forward.
Pedigree cats that define whiskers of sophistication with pads of glamour will be stage ready for ‘Sophistikatz’ this month.
Club Central Menai will be cat-central on August 19 when Australian National Cats (ANCATS) hosts a six ring, all-breeds championship show.
Judges from Australia, the US and New Zealand will look to crown the best kitty in show from a range of more than 100 four-legged curious kitties.
See the sphynx to Maine Coon, and everything in between Persian, Burmese, Oriental and Siamese.
The event is in partnership with the Cat Protection Society of NSW and Sylvania Veterinary Hospital.
Woolooware cat breeder and owner of the Sydney Royal Easter Show 2018 ‘supreme cat’, Bambi Edwards, will have her lucky charm, Bajimbi Sophie Rose (Rosie), who will have her beady eyes on the prize.
Rosie’s brother Denny, was the supreme title winner at the Brisbane National Championships earlier this year.
There might be quite the cat fight as the siblings, Chocolate Silver Classic Tabby Orientals, will now compete with each other for the championship.
“She’s won a few since the Royal,” Ms Edwards said. “It would be nice to win another one and she’s a little show pony and loves attention, but she has her work cut out for her.”
The event is on from 9am-4pm.
Tickets are $5.
