Five of the best tenor voices in Australia will bring romance and excitement along with warmth and humor to their performance at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre on August 26.
Soloists in their own right, The Australian Tenors – Lorenzo Rositano, Murray Mayday, Matthew Reardon, David McKenzie and John Donohoe – have have performed with Opera Australia, Australian and international symphonies and philharmonic orchestras.
The Australian Tenors versatility spans all genres of the classical tenor repertoire and their concerts encapsulates the spirit, the beauty and vocal demand of truly authentic tenor voice.
Audiences are thrilled by the ever popular classical arias from the best known operas, traditional Neapolitan songs such as Funiculi Funicular, and popular tenor tunes from the hit music theatre productions such as Somewhere from West Side Story, The Impossible Dream, Bring Him Home, This Is The Moment.
Beautiful duets include All I Ask from Phantom of the Opera, Time to Say Goodbye made famous by (Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman), Amigos Para Siempre (Friends for Life).
A performance from The Australian Tenors is never complete without Waltzing Matilda, Australia My Country (Dorothea Mackellar poem), I Am Australian, among many other favourites.
Their vocal artistry and powerful stage presence and their ability to connect with an audience is the trade mark of their worldwide success.
The Tenors are backed by the Southern Cross Orchestra under the direction of musical director and Conductor Bernard Walz.
The Australian Tenors’ guest soprano is Opera Australia’s Giuseppina Grech who will sing wonderful duets with the tenors including The Prayer.
Giuseppina has performed principal roles with companies including Opera Australia, Teatro Moriconi (Italy), Victorian Opera, Gilbert & Sullivan Opera and Opera Scholars Australia.
Grech and The Australian Tenors will unite in a concert to remember at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre on August 26 at 2pm.
