The sparkling waters of the Hacking River contrast starkly with the barren dry areas of eastern Australia which are in the grip of drought.
The point is not lost on Cronulla and National Park Ferry Cruises, which has started a fundraising link with Buy a Bale, to raise funds for needy farmers.
The ferries operator is also holding a Live Music Cruise on Sunday, September 16, to boost funds for the farmers.
Local band The Sweetest Goodbye will be performing ‘70s, ‘80’s and ‘90’s music on board the TSMV Gunnamatta for four hours, starting at 2pm.
The band, along with the ferry cruise team, are donating their time.
All proceeds will be donated to buyabale.com.au
Cost of the cruise is $50 per person and is limited to 80 people.
Cocktail food will be provided throughout the cruise, full bar service is available.
A silent auction will be held on the cruise, with the opportunity to bid for a Christmas cruise for 50 people along with other items generously donated by local businesses.
