Rate rises a concern
The Georges River Council seems very pleased with itself in telling ratepayers that they have streamlined the way it receives and processes rate payments.
And to add to the excitement, ratepayers are getting a “new-look rates notice” (Leader, August 8)
The Georges River Council Residents’ Association understands that ratepayers are more concerned that rates have increased by 3.9 per cent on the previous year noting that wages growth remains at historic lows.
What happened to the projected savings that would arise due to the forced amalgamation of Kogarah and Hurstville Councils?
