The members of the Ramsgate RSL Ladies Social and Craft Group get very crafty when it comes to showing support for drought-affected Australian farmers.
The Ladies Social Craft Group have gotten to work and stitched up a number of baby lamb coats to be distributed to farmers to protect their vulnerable livestock.
The tiny coats are given to orphaned baby lambs to comfort them.
They have also raised close to $1000 in cash for the RSL’s ‘Bale out a Farmer’ fundraising campaign.
Ramsgate RSL is running its Bale Out A Farmer initiative in response to the drought crisis affecting farmers.
“Ramsgate RSL are excited to have their team and members get involved with a number of ways contributing to both the funds and goods needed to help our mates in need,” Ramsgate RSL Club’s chief executive officer David Moorcroft said.
“Staff have also kindly contributed to the Buy A Bale campaign, with Ramsgate RSL Management offering to match dollar for dollar all donations raised by the team.
“The Club has also committed to all sales made at their Meat Raffle this Sunday, August 19 to be donated to the cause.
“Farmers are the ‘bread and butter’ of the hospitality industry, this is our small way of giving back and showing that we care for our mates in times of need, and to remind them that they are not alone through this drought crisis”. Mr Moorcroft said.
