As far as their secrets to a happy marriage go, John and Lynette White keep it simple.
“A close partnership where we support each other in everything we do or get involved in,” is the key, Mr White said.
The Sutherland couple celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on September 6, 2018.
They met when they both worked for the old T&G Mutual Life Insurance Company in the early 1950s.
The pair married at St Andrew’s Church of England at Cronulla in 1958.
Mrs White grew up at Jannali and Mr White, at Mortdale. They lived at Mortdale Heights, then made Bundeena home for 21 years. Three and a half years ago they moved to Sutherland.
While living at Bundeena the couple helped out with Meals on Wheels and Mr White drove residents to medical appointments. He was also involved with the RSL Sub-Branch.
They have three sons, three grandsons and four great-grand daughters, who all live in Sutherland Shire.
Mrs White also recently celebrated her 80th birthday.
