A bigger table and more chairs now cater for an expanded boys’ club that blends a chat with a drink or two.
Membership has certainly frothed up at this coffee club, where blokes gather for their morning chin wag and cappuccino, tea or milkshake.
The group formed in 2012 with eight members, and that has grown to 37.
They meet each morning at 10am on Wednesday.
Caringbah’s Peter Lewis says the group offers social support.
“We range in age from 61 to 91, and some of us are widowers,” he said.
“We have three doctors, a couple of former MPs, a bus driver. We all talk among ourselves in groups rather than it being one big forum. There’s no heated arguments but there are no rules – the morning takes its own direction.”
With all eyes across the latest copies of the Leader, every topic is stirred into the mix – including thoughts on the new Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
“I think it’s good he’s from the shire. There’s a few doubters but it’s a wait and see job,” Mr Lewis said.
