The man was revived by lifeguards at Greenhill Beach after he was found not breathing

A 73-year-old man who was found unconscious at Greenhills Beach last week remains in a critical but stable condition.

Emergency services treated the man after he was found on the shoreline without a pulse.

Sutherland Shire Council lifeguards were first on scene, immediately starting CPR. They revived the man before paramedics arrived.

A man, 73, has been pulled unconscious from the water at Greenhills Beach this morning.

Paramedics were on scene at about 10.30am, on the northern end of the beach.

The man was not breathing and is suspected of having a heart attack. Reports suggest lifeguards performed CPR on the man.

The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter has taken the man to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

It is believed the man was rescued by shire residents who were walking their dogs along the beach at the time.
