Sutherland’s season is over after they suffered a shock 2-0 loss to University of NSW on Saturday night.

Sutho went into the match as favourites having lost only one regular season match, separated by goal difference from minor premiers Moorebank-Liverpool.

Sutherland lost their qualifying final after double extra-time to Moorebank last weekend, setting up the clash with UNSW at Sydney Olympic Park.

But Sutho will not get the chance to defend their title, with UNSW winning through to face Moorebank in the decider.

Fourth grade were the only Sutho team to advance to Saturday night’s grand finals after downing Easts 2-1.
