Telex Hearing Centre has been a family owned and run practice in the St George and Sutherland areas since 1969.
Graham Rathbone started the practice in Hurstville and has since grown to having two full time clinics in Hurstville and Miranda (2006).
Graham’s son Simon came into the practice in 2002 and his daughter Marnie in 2006.
Graham and his children have built their practice on the personalised care they give to their patients, from the hearing assessment through to the fitting of the hearing aids and rehabilitation.
Nothing is too big or small for Telex to fix.
For those that can’t get out of their house they also offer home visits.
If you have a loved one that finds it difficult to travel into the clinic or they live in a nursing home or retirement village and have no access to transport, a home call can be arranged.
Home visits can be arranged within 1-2 weeks depending on location and require a referral from your GP stating that you cannot travel into the clinic (not required if in a nursing home).
Hearing aids have seen a significant change over the nearly 50 years Graham has been in the industry as the hearing aids of today are a lot smaller.
Telex Hearing Centre has access to all the leading hearing aid brands.
This means they can offer you an unbiased opinion on the current hearing aids on the market and help you choose the best product for your hearing and communication needs, rather than just picking the most suitable from a restricted list.
As an independent hearing aid clinic in Sydney, they offer various brands and an unbiased consultation.
They will review your needs for the different areas you have difficulty hearing in and offer the best hearing solution for you.
“We will choose the best hearing aid for you based on many individual factors such as; degree of hearing loss, the shape of your hearing loss, lifestyle needs, physical management requirements, cosmetic concerns and your budget. Given all of these variables, for us to prescribe the most suitable hearing aid, it is very important for us to conduct a comprehensive hearing aid assessment,” said the team at Telex.
Telex Hearing Centre can also connect to other devices in the house such as mobile phones and TV.
Some hearing aids are also rechargeable so there is no need to fiddle with the small batteries anymore.
As an independent Audiology practice they are able to deal with any manufacturer of hearing aids and can recommend the best hearing aid to suit your needs.
The Telex Hearing Centre team includes Simon Rathbone, Clinical Audiologist, Graham Rathbone, Audiometrist, Marnie Rathbone, Audiometrist and Hannah Smartt, Clinical Audiologist.
