The Sutherland Shire Orchid Society recently held their Spring Orchid Show at Woolooware Shores Retirement Village, Taren Point.
The event showcased a colourful range of orchids including exotic species and complex hybrids.
Experts were on hand to provide advice on growing orchids and there was even an orchid repotting service provided.
The event included an orchid raffle.
It is a busy time of year for the Sutherland Orchid Society which teams with the Orchid Society of NSW and Eastern Suburbs Orchid Society to present the Southern Orchid Spectacular at Caringbah High next month.
The event hosts orchid breeders from across Australia who will be selling a wide range of eye-catching exotic hybrids and species from all over the word, as well as Australian native plants not often seen by the public.
The Southern Orchid Spectacular will be held at Caringbah High School, 85 Willarong Road, Caringbah from Friday, October 5 to Sunday October 7.
Hours, 9am to 4pm Friday and Saturday, 9am to 2pm Sunday.
Entry is $5. Children under 15 have free entry.
