Arncliffe’s Kat Ferguson is one of 30 faces who capture the moving stories of inspiring people in Australia.
She is part of a new e-book called 30 Faces of Redkite, launched by a cancer charity that provides support to young people with cancer, assisted by Coles.
The team member was chosen to feature in the educational resource for her dedication and commitment to providing practical services to young Australians with cancer.
One of her roles is to help youth reach their goals through the Dare to Dream scholarship program
“After seeing my friend almost lose her five-year-old daughter, I felt compelled to apply for a job at Redkite four years ago,” she said.
“When a child is sick, it affects the whole family. I watched my friend prepare the whole family for a potential goodbye if her daughter didn’t survive surgery, and then the tears and joy that followed when her little girl made it through.
“Now I get to help families like hers by providing really practical services to make their journey that bit easier.
“From aspiring hairdressers to doctors and artists, every one of these young people are remarkable in their resilience. I love that I get to help them reach their dreams.”
