Flash flooding is possible on the NSW mid north coast over the weekend as the wild weather that has swept parts of Queensland heads south.
The state's mid north coast is likely to experience heavy rainfall and possibly flooding on Sunday and early next week, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
"We're expecting rainfall to peak on Sunday and the first part of Monday in association with the potential for a trough to move from Queensland further south into NSW," forecaster Katarina Kovacevic said.
Ms Kovacevic said due to the nature of the weather system, it was still unknown exactly what areas would be most affected.
The Orara River in the state's northern rivers region and the Bellinger and Kalang rivers on the mid north coast are likely to be affected by minor flooding, the bureau said.
People living or working along rivers and streams have been advised to monitor the latest forecasts and be ready to move to higher ground if flooding develops.
An earlier warning for minor flooding for the Wilsons River has been cancelled.
