Ramsgate RSL in conjunction with the Ramsgate RSL Sub-Branch will be holding two very special commemorative services to mark Remembrance Day on Sunday, November 11.
The first service at 11am will be held at the club’s Memorial Garden to remember the lives that were lost during World War 1.
In addition to this service, Ramsgate RSL are proud to be marking the significant occasion of the 100th Year Anniversary of the Signing of the Armistice by holding a service from 4:30pm in local Pemberton Reserve, located behind the club.
This is a significant event that will be held in many locations across the world, where pipe bands will play the tune ‘Battle Over’; at exactly the same time.
Being conducted by the local St George Pipe Band, the performance will take place at 5pm (Australian Eastern Summer time) which will be 6am western Europe time, the exact time the armistice was signed 100 years ago.
