Eleni Petinos will recontest Miranda for the Liberal Party at the state election after a challenge fizzled out.
Barrister Jeffrey Clarke withdrew from the preselection ballot, which was to have taken place tomorrow (Thursday).
A party source said Mr Clarke “had no chance” of winning.
The outcome means all sitting Liberals in Sutherland Shire and St George will stand again at the March, 2019 election.
Mark Coure (Oatley) and Melanie Gibbons (Holsworthy) were preselected earlier after challengers withdrew.
Mark Speakman (Cronulla) and Lee Evans (Heathcote) were re-endorsed without challenge.
