A host of former Australian Open champions will return to the shire for the Legends Pro-Am to be played at Cronulla Golf Club.
The two-day event, to be played on November 21 and 22, will see some of Australia’s greatest ever players attempting to stop Mike Harwood from winning a hat-trick of titles.
Harwood, a five-time winner on the European Tour and runner-up to Ian Baker-Finch at the 1991 Open Championship, has won the 2016 and 2017 versions of the tournament and will be among the favourites to make it three in a row.
Harwood shot rounds of 67 and 69 to finish two under last year, winning by a shot from David Merriman, before going on to win the Legends Pro-Am at Hurstville a month later.
Standing in his way will be two-time Australian Open champions Peter Lonard and Peter Senior, as well as 2007 and 1983 national open winners Craig Parry and Peter Fowler.
Cost for amateurs is $70, with prize money for the event up to $30,000.
The Wayne Riley Georges River Council Legends Pro-Am at Hurstville will also be held on November 23.
Jones on the up
Meanwhile, Matt Jones has finished in a tie for 57th at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.
Jones, from Oyster Bay, had an unhappy start to the wraparound 2018-19 PGA Tour season, missing the cut at the Sanderson Farms Championship and Safeway Open.
The 38-year-old will tee it up at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico this weekend.
