Restaurant Salt Meets Cheese has proved so popular since opening in Cronulla mall two months ago it is seeking approval to add extra tables.
Earlier this year, Sutherland Shire Council approved the Italian pizza and pasta restaurant’s development application (DA), which included internal dining for 64 customers and outdoor dining for 36.
An application was lodged with the council this week to increase seating for 75 patrons inside, with 40 at outdoor tables.
That would accommodate an extra 15 diners.
Owner Leanne Dransfield said there had been a great response to the restaurant in the Banc building, which includes the heritage-listed Commonwealth Bank facade.
“We are pretty much fully booked every Friday and Saturday night weeks in advance,” she said.
“This is a great location and everyone is loving the food and the atmosphere.
”We can absolutely accommodate a few more tables.”
Outdoor tables overlook the Ocean Grove Avenue precinct, which the council upgraded at the same time as the Banc project.
