How would you like to take a tour of your dream home? It hasn’t been built yet but you can still pop in for a look around.

You can check out the kitchen, the upstairs bedrooms, heck you can even ride the private elevator, it has one of those too.

Don’t know what I’m talking about? Think I’ve lost my mind? Think you’ve crossed over into an alternate universe where Michael Crichton novels are real and everything else us for debate?

Not quite.

LOCATION Real Estate Sales & Consulting now selling élan at Sylvania, a prestige boutique development which will see the construction of four luxury free standing strata title residences.

All four properties have underground parking, private elevators and are constructed from the highest quality materials, with the option of further alteration before construction starts.

Put simply, the homes are perfect for retirees or people looking to downsize while maintaining an executive lifestyle.

There’s just one little problem, older people don’t traditionally like buying off the plan. Not only is there stigma attached – thanks mainly to high rise apartments that so frequently feature on A Current Affair – but they come from a generation of bricks and mortar.

In order to demonstrate how perfect this development was for their key demographic, they had to get creative. So, they enlisted the help of a Sydney based architectural firm and commissioned them to build a full virtual reality spec home. Using the latest technology, prospective buyers can put on a VR headset and take a virtual tour.

“Traditionally, buying off the plan has required people to have a bit of an imagination to really picture what it is their home is going to look like because all they’ve had to go off were some 3D images and a 2D floor plan. That’s just the way people have always sold off the plan in the Sutherland Shire,” partner in location real estate sales and consulting Rhiff Larkings explained.

“So we thought if we can take those 3D images and turn them into a virtual reality tour we can create something that really helps the buyers realise that vision.”

The results were stunning, director Michael Larkings says.

“It really is an immersive experience. I’ve never experienced anything like it. You really do feel like you’re in the place. I actually had to lift the goggles off my head,” he said.

The pair hope the VR experience will help their customers experience what it would be like to come home to these prestige properties.

élan is conveniently located on quiet street in peaceful neighbourhood, just walking distance from the Box Village shops, sports fields and both Sylvania High and Primary Schools.

It is just two minutes by car to Southgate Shopping Centre, five minutes to Westfield Miranda/train station and ten minutes to Cronulla’s beautiful beaches. It’s also 15 minutes from the airport and just 35 minutes from the CBD.
