Players and supporters of Arncliffe Aurora Football Club were officially congratulated by Bayside Council this week for their championship season.
Bayside Council mayor Bill Saravinovski congratulated Arncliffe Aurora’s Under 13s Boys Team on their outstanding achievement as winners of the 2018 Minor Premiers and Grand Final, AAFC Best Team, Best Competition Team and NSW Champion of Champions.
“The Under 13s Boys were undefeated this year and scored well over 100 goals,” Councillor Saravinovski said.
Cr Michael Nagi said when the club first started it was struggled to get one team and now the club has over 500 members.
He presented a certificate of congratulations to the Arncliffe Aurora FC Under 18s Boys Team on their outstanding achievement as winners of the 2018 Minor Premiers and Grand Final and finishing in the top 16 in the NSW Champion of Champions.
The Under 18 team was undefeated in the 2018 soccer season.
“The club has achieved three times in its history,” Cr Nagi said. “Congratulations and keep up the good work.”
The mayor also presented a Certificate of Recognition to Jaafar Khamis as Winner of the 2018 Supporter of the Year Award for Arncliffe Aurora.
A Certificate of Recognition was also presented to Hassan Reda, Winner of the 2018 Volunteer Coaching Support Award, Arncliffe Aurora Football Club.
Anise Jomaa received a Certificate of Recognition for being Winner of the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award, Arncliffe Aurora Football Club.
President of the Aurora Arncliffe Football Club Samir Hassan presented Bayside Council with a token of appreciation for its ongoing support during 2018.
“I thank the council for recognising our youth but also recognising the volunteers and supporters that basically form the foundation of this club,” Mr Hassan said.
“It has been a very successful year for Arncliffe Aurora, a club that prides itself on its community emphasis.”
