The Summer surf season is officially here- the water is warming up, and the beaches are getting busier.
As the waves roll in, so do the people so it’s important to stay safe on the beach this summer, swim between the flags and listen to Patrolling Lifesavers and Lifeguards.
On weekends Cronulla beach is patrolled by volunteer lifesavers from the club doing their best to keep the beach and surrounds safe for visitors.
The Cronulla Surf Lifesaving Club has recently trained 44 new SRC and Bronze Medallion Members and 12 new IRB Drivers who can now be recognised as surf lifesavers to join the local Cronulla patrol groups to assist in keeping our beaches safe this summer both on the beach and out in the water.
Cronulla Club Captain Chris Barber and the CSLSC committee, chief training instructors and Patrol captains ensure all lifesavers are skilled and prepared for any situation that may present itself. Providing members with an array of courses to become proficient in the relevant disciplines required to be a Surf Life Saver.
“Cronulla remained a safe beach throughout the 2017/18 season and no lives were lost. Our beaches are kept safe because of our member’s expertise, dedication and professionalism.” Club Captain Chris Barber said
“The 2018/19 season will be no different; the club looks forward to maintaining a high standard of Surf Life Saving for the community-so stay safe this Summer”.
