Raise Foundation is on the hunt for volunteers from Sutherland Shire to become mentors at high schools.
The organisation is recruiting volunteers from the community to mentor young people in the NSW Department of Education Youth Frontiers program running for the first time in the shire in 2019.
The “best practice” mentoring program will take place in terms 2 and 3 for selected students at Endeavour Sports High, The Jannali High and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic College.
Mentors must be at least 21 years of age, available for two hours a week during school hours, able to commit for 23 weeks between March and September, and able to attend 12 hours of in-person training.
Successful applicants will be matched with a student, and spend an hour with them each week. A qualified counsellor will support mentors.
Raise Foundation is provides safe and nurturing services for children, working to prevent child abuse, neglect, and harm.
