Celebrating Sydney's hazy days of summer

No matter from which angle you looked at it, Sydney was deep into the hazy days of summer today.

Leader photographer Chris Lane was able to record the city’s faded skyline during his travels through St George and Sutherland Shire.

No matter where he was this morning – Arncliffe, Ramsgate, Miranda, Sylvania or Kurnell – his photos all recorded the same story.

The haze was lifting by early afternoon and this was expected to be hastened by showers later today.

Sydney has a 70 per cent chance of showers, most likely in the afternoon and evening.

There is a chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and early evening, possibly severe in the west.

Winds will be northerly 15 to 20 km/h turning northeasterly 15 to 25 km/h in the early afternoon.

Temperatures in Sydney are forecast to reach 29 degrees today and 28 on Wednesday, and 33 degrees in the west.
