I wanted to write to express my sincere thanks to the Leader for helping to promote the Sutherland Shire Symphony Orchestra’s Messiah performance last month.
This concert was an outstanding success with more than 80 people on stage (soloists, orchestra and choir) and a full house.
In true community spirit, we had choir members from various shire choirs as well as members of the community and people from out side the shire join our combined choir for the occasion.
The majority of the audience was from the shire and I’m sure attended the concert as a result of reading the article placed in the Leader.
To see a stage full of musicians from the shire and a packed house from the shire indicates that my vision for the orchestra and the music scene within the shire is taking shape.
This result is in no small part due to the Leader’s support of our endeavors.
Dr Anthony Clarke,
SSSO principal conductor
