A driver has been charged over a fatal crash that occurred on New Illawarra Road on January 5.
About 2:30pm emergency services were called to New Illawarra Road near Heathcote Road after three vehicles had collided.
On arrival, a 63-year-old man from Heathcote who was driving a red Subaru Liberty died at the scene.
A 26-year-old Miranda man driving a silver Toyota Hilux suffered abdominal and spinal injuries before being airlifted to St George Hospital in a serious but stable condition. He has since been released from hospital.
His passenger, a 21-year-old Cronulla man was treated at the scene and transported to Liverpool Hospital for treatment. He has also since been discharged.
An investigation involving the Crash Investigation Unit and officers from the Sutherland Shire Police Area Command was launched and at 11am on Saturday they arrested the Miranda man before taking him to Kogarah Police Station.
He was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, drive while disqualified, illegal use of conveyance and breach of previous bail conditions.
He was refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.
