NSW Finance Minister Victor Dominello came to Hurstville’s Service NSW Centre yesterday to promote the benefits of the NSW Government’s Cost of Living Service.
Mr Dominello said that in the past few months, a total of 228 customers in the Oatley electorate had shared in $122,000 in savings by using the Cost of Living Service.
He joined Oatley MP Mark Coure at Service NSW Hurstville to reveal the figures and encourage families to make an appointment with a cost of living specialist.
“We know that cost of living is a big issue facing local households, which is why we delivered this free, advisory service. It’s open to everyone and most people who have given it a go have not been disappointed,” Mr Dominello said.
“There are more than 40 rebates and incentives available across Government and we’ve transformed Service NSW into a one-stop shop for household savings.”
Mr Coure said, “This service provides families with much needed hip pocket relief. Booking an appointment is simple and easy, and you could walk away with extra money.
“The new school year is just around the corner and now is a great time to identify savings, which could include $100 Active Kids and Creative Kids vouchers.”
Mr Coure also announced that 86 households in the Oatley Electorate had initiated a change of electricity retailer, opting for a better deal, through the Government’s free Energy Switch service. These households stand to save a combined total of $30,000.
Launched in November 2018, Energy Switch is a free, Australian first service, which allows households to switch electricity providers in minutes with the click of a mouse or a chat with Service NSW, potentially saving them hundreds of dollars on their bills.
Mr Dominello released savings made under the Cost of Living Service for Oatley Electorate:
The total claimed CTP refunds was $3,998,555 with a total of 55,598 total claimed policies.
Toll relief benefits paid totalled $231,512, going to 506 beneficiaries.
And there were 521 Creative Kids Vouchers issued totalling $52,100.
The Cost of Living service has been rolled out to more than 60 Service NSW Centres across the State.
