An Alfords Point man is in a serious condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Double Bay overnight.
At about 10pm on January 17, emergency services were called to New South Head Road, near Bellevue Road, Double Bay, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a utility.
Police have been told the pedestrian, a 41-year-old man, began to run in a northerly direction when he was struck by a Toyota Hilux.
He has broken ribs, a ruptured spleen, and severe bruising to his hip and thigh.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.
The male driver, a 30-year-old Double Bay man, was not injured.
Officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
