From January 21-25, TAFE NSW Loftus, Gymea and St George will open its doors to prospective students for the first-ever InfoFest.
As school leavers consider their career options for 2019, InfoFest will showcase many job pathways offered by TAFE NSW, with staff on hand to assist with enrolments, career advice and campus tours.
A recent study by TAFE NSW forecasts a Sutherland Shire jobs boom in the health, well-being and community services area.
TAFE NSW regional general manager, Alison Wood, says that across the next few years, she predicts significant employment growth in children’s services, aged care and disability care in the community.
“As a continually growing sector, NSW is expected to require several thousand new children’s services educators over the next few years,” she said.
“TAFE NSW is responding to the escalating demand by investing heavily in increasing subsidised enrolment places, and providing high quality, best practice training facilities and resources, ensuring our graduates have the skills and knowledge sought after by the children’s services sector.”
There are a range of qualifications on offer across the children’s services sector including a Bachelor of Education (birth to five years), Diploma and Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care.
