Despite the collapse of his make-up empire, Napoleon Perdis stock is still on the shelves at a popular Kogarah kiosk – for now.
It was announced this week that the cosmetics chain outlet at Westfield Miranda will remain open while the Hurstville outlet has been closed, after voluntary administrators took hold of stores nationally.
TerryWhite Chemmart at Kogarah Town Centre has not slashed the price of his make-up and their store, but is offering discontinued lines at 30 per cent off.
Pharmacy manager Chris Chrysvisvis says it is business as usual, until they are told otherwise.
“Tomorrow we might be told to go on sale, and we don’t have orders going through, but we aren’t about to throw him out,” she said.
“We support him 100 per cent – it’s a great brand.
“Knowing Napoleon he’s got a long time before he thinks about retiring. He’s not going down without a fight.
“Things might change and the price point might have to come down but I think he will come back in some form.
“If it decides to go, we will roll with it, and put something else in its place.”
Perdis, who spent some of his childhood living in Sutherland Shire, expanded his Australian-born make-up business with a solid fan base.
The stall fronts the main entrance of the pharmacy, and is popular with customers, Ms Chrysvisvis said.
“Customers are still coming in buying,” she said. “We’ve had Napoleon for about four years and it’s pretty popular. Our best sellers are the foundations and the primer. But people have been asking about what’s happening.
“We’ve been doing make-overs and that’s something I’d like to keep. I’d love to have a staff member from his concept store.”
