Local seniors kicked off 2019 Seniors Festival with a free Tai Chi class yesterday at Club Central Hurstville.
This is one of the activities that Club Central is holding to celebrate local seniors during the festival.
The class was provided by one of Club Central Hurstville’s community partners, Asian Women at Work, who advocate on behalf of migrant Asian women.
AWAW aim to empower and provide resources to assist women to obtain secure employment and enable them to understand and contribute to Australian society.
Club Central provides ClubGRANTS funding for a number of AWAW programs aimed at teaching English and water safety.
The Tai Chi Class brought together seniors from all backgrounds and enjoy some gentle exercise and meet new people.
They all enjoyed a well-deserved morning tea afterwards.
Club Central also has plenty of other activities to celebrate the 2019 Seniors Festival including a special Morning Melodies show next Monday, February 18; a free bingo book at Bingo next Tuesday, February 19; $1 coffee, tea or hot chocolate during Seniors Festival in the club’s Arena Bar; and free Blood Sugar and blood pressure testing on Thursday, February 21, provided by another one of the club’s community partners, Clever Care NOW.
