After not much rain and minimal cloud cover in the past few weeks, showers have made a grey comeback into the final week of summer.
Sydney Airport had recorded 6.6mm by 9am while Sydney Observatory Hill had recorded 7.8mm and Bankstown 4mm.
Falls will continue to be light in coming days with showers expected to only bring up to five millimetres on Wednesday.
Winds from Tuesday have eased, and although the wet has made it feel cooler, the temperature should still reach the mid-20s on Wednesday and up to 26 degrees on Thursday.
Showers are predicted to continue on Friday and into the weekend, bringing a damp change from summer's extended heat blast.
