Thanks Barry
Re the article ‘‘Russell Resigns’’ (Leader, March 6). Thanks Barry for all you have done for the club in these most recent issues. You did a great job in very hard circumstances.

At least he can look himself in the mirror with his head held high.

This might change the goal posts for the better [Cronulla-Sutherland Leagues Club board elections]. Members need to vote March 16-24. Time to break the culture damaging the Sharks brand

Jet ski concerns
Just wondering what restrictions apply to the operation of jet skis near our beaches?
I was under the impression that a 200m distance from the shoreline was to be maintained.
Last Sunday while enjoying the surf near Greenhills some 20 to 30 jet skis roared into the break, they did numerous in and out jumps through the break and a variety of turns sending plumes of spray and chop across the surface of the water.
Combine this with the noise generated and the always aromatic smell of burning fuel it is easily seen how myself and my fellow surfers had our serene time in the water shattered.
Fortunately sitting on our boards there is a reasonable chance that even at the speed these skis were travelling at they could see us. I suspect that had there been swimmers in the vicinity avoiding them may be difficult given the speed of the jet skis and the nature of a beach break.

Colredidge St car park
Re the letter from Wendy ‘‘Commuter car park location questioned’’ (Your View, March 6).
I wholeheartedly agree with Wendy’s analysis of the location of the car park near Riverwood Plaza.
In fact I was astonished that they are even considering this location.
In my opinion a superior location is the existing car park behind Café Roman on Coleridge Street (it is still close enough to the train station).

Remarks retracted
On January 9, 2019, the Leader published in the Opinion section of its paper my letter entitled ‘‘Planning panel urged to heed fire risk fears’’.
In that Opinion piece remarks were made which may be regarded as offensive and derogatory of persons identified in the piece. I totally retract such offensive and derogatory comments and will cease and desist from making any further comments of like nature.
