St Patrick's Primary School Kogarah is taking an innovative trip down the virtual reality road.
Pupils are experiencing school life in Timor-Leste, through the eyes of a child.
The school recently took part in jumping on the technology ride by wearing high-tech 360-degree goggles, which transported them into a classroom with limited resources.
It is an exercise that also aims to give Australian pupils an insight into culture and diverse communities.
The virtual reality program was launched for the first time at the school this month by Mary Mackillop Today.
The complete virtual reality experience is delivered to classrooms across the nation as part of Mary Mackillop Today's social justice workshops.
This portable technology, which is compatible with mobile devices, will be rolled out across other schools in Australia this year.
Students under 12 years of age can view the technology via Google Cardboard virtual reality devices, and older students can watch using the full virtual reality headwear.
It can be requested by any school.
